Lodging a Complaint
On 1st July 2011, Richard Bruton, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, announced a major reform of the State's employment rights/workplace relations institutions. The overall objective of the reforms is to deliver a world-class workplace relations service and employment rights framework that serves the needs of employers and employees and provides maximum value for money.
As part of the process of reforming Irish Employment Rights and Industrial Relations structures, a new Single Complaint Form has been created, Download Single Complaint Form pdf replacing many of the forms used by the Employment Appeals Tribunal, Labour Relations Commission, National Employment Rights Authority, Equality Tribunal and Labour Court. This new form should be used for lodging employment-related complaints from 30th December 2011.

If the person who feels that they have been discriminated against is not satisfied with the response to the notification, they may refer a complaint to the Director of the Tribunal. The information received in reply to the request for information should help in deciding whether to pursue the case in this way. The person who makes the complaint is called the complainant and the service provider alleged to have discriminated is called the respondent.
A complaint can be made as soon as the respondent has replied to the notification. If there is no reply to the notification the complainant should wait one month after it was sent before making a complaint. A single complaint form is available at:

The completed complaint form should be returned to the Director of the Tribunal with a copy of the notification sent and including a copy of the Form ES.2 or any response from the respondent if any such information has been received. This complaint form should be returned to the following address:
